In the 18th century- there was a noble Neapolitan woman who lived in the old villa where the hotel stands today She was so beautiful that the inhabitants of that area called her Reginella which means Little Queen In the 60s a Sea Capitan had the idea to name the hotel Hotel Reginella after this regal beauty The hotel is a small construction in the typical Mediterranean style which overlooks the sea. The external sign of coloured ceramics from Vietri gives a warm welcome to all of the guests The entrance hall is situated on road level and is in the typical Arabic-Mediterranean style with numerous arches-traditional vaulted Positano ceilings-pastel colours and in particular- floors in the Pomepian style The marble column -hand worked by local artisans-divides the reception from the corner bar-where it is possible to drink a cocktail and converse in a relaxing atmosphere At the beginning of the staircase-which leads to the upper floors-you can admire two particular works in tufa from Sorrento which have also been sculptured by local artisans The staircase and the finishing touches of the hotel are all in marble and traditional stones of dark lava from Vesuvius On the first floor-where the breakfast room is located-the antique flooring glazed tiles in Pompeian of red also comes from Vietri sul Mare-a small town on the Amalfi Coast-well known for its mastery in hand painted ceramics The continental buffet breakfast is served on tables made from marble from Vesuvius and small comfortable armchairs are used for seating This floor is where you will find the Classic Rooms. Going up the white marble staircase to the second floor-the flooring of the corridor are in Vietri ceramics of a sea green colour From the corridor it is possible to admire - through the numerous windows-the remaining piece of rocks on which the entire establishment was built by hand On this floor and on the 3rd floor are the Superior rooms-all with private balconies.Closure Dates/ 1 NOV - FIRST WEEK OF MARCH.
